Marquise giardinetti ring in 18k gold and 800 silver, with open work setting decorated with a bouquet of flower with Rhine. French work from 2nd half of the 19th century (1850-1900).
'Giardinetti' from Italian word meaning "little garden" were very popular design in the 1800s. Rhinestones were rock crystals from the river Rhine, which gave the name. The availability of rhinestones increased greatly in the 18th century.

This ring is not messing around. A heavy French tank ring in18k yellow gold and platinum, with triple gadroons ending in spheres. The center paved with diamond roses and an old cut diamond set. There are some knicks to the platinum but it is not easily visible unless under magnification. The diamonds twinkle and the size of the ring just exudes power and strength.
